Introduction to "Sweeter Than Fiction"

When I started this story, I did not plan to make this story. I know that sounds confusing, but that’s exactly what I meant. I had planned to write a short imagine of a reader who lived under a possible scenario of World War Ⅲ. It was supposed to be a 700~900ish word reader-insert. But then I had a part which just wouldn’t tie in with the whole story, so then I tried to extend it. Then, somehow, my brain came up with this idea to make it into a Narnia fic, which seemed perfect to me, having both sides (readers vs. Narnia characters) as people who lived through a world war, even though they are decades apart (in this imagined story); they could find different ways to relate to each other, and even compare all that is different.
